Job summary

onlyFE is seeking a Senior Technician to join our Estates Team at Wigston campus, with potential to work across other College sites. You will lead day-to-day maintenance, supervise contractors, and support operations to maintain safe and welcoming environments.

This hands-on role offers opportunities to coordinate resources, develop maintenance plans, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of our College estate, supporting staff, learners and visitors.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience in carpentry, painting, plumbing and repairs.
• Experience coordinating operational activities, contractors and team members.
• Knowledge of routine building maintenance, security, fire safety and emergency processes.
• Experience in a technical or maintenance environment.
• Experience using computerised maintenance management systems.
• Strong problem-solving and proactive maintenance approach.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day campus operations, ensuring high standard of buildings, grounds and facilities.
• Coordinate operational activities, oversee maintenance and repair work.
• Support site security and monitor compliance with health and safety.
• Work with contractors to meet college requirements.
• Inspect and perform statutory checks and manage equipment.
• Contribute to an outstanding environment for learners, staff and community.
