Job summary

Altera Recruitment Group is partnering with an innovative clean technology business in the Bristol area, developing novel technology to transform recycling and reuse of carbon fibre composites. The Lead Engineer role is highly autonomous, taking equipment and processes from concept through to commissioning across mechanical, electrical, controls, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience designing and building special purpose machinery.
Experience in SP machinery within industrial scale process equipment.
Experience in R&D environment from concept to implementation.

Responsibilities

Take concepts through to physical implementation, including CAD, documentation, quotation management, inspection, assembly and commissioning.
Lead the selection and integration of components and equipment with suppliers and internal stakeholders to define specifications.
Produce detailed equipment specifications and technical documentation.
Allocate, track and manage engineering work packages against budgets and timescales.
Continuously develop equipment and engineering best practices to improve production rates, efficiency, quality, manufacturing cost and equipment uptime.
