Job summary

HSBC seeks a hands-on engineer in London to own the delivery of Risk Controls Assessment (RCA) and Regulation Management within Group Functions Technology. You will shape architecture, backlog and production run, partnering with Risk stakeholders and DevSecOps teams to ensure secure, resilient services.

You’ll contribute production code, drive observability and governance, and raise engineering standards across the portfolio to improve time-to-market and risk outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing, building and running secure services in a regulated environment.
• Strong hands-on engineering with Java or Python and concurrency.
• Experience with event-driven and distributed systems, low-latency architectures.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of RCA and Regulation Management work stream within planned milestones.
• Oversee full lifecycle from discovery to production, including release and support.
• Build secure, scalable capabilities with clear ownership across architecture, backlog and run.
• Champion Agile, DevSecOps, trunk-based development, automated testing and CI/CD.
