Job summary

GMP Worldwide is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to head the engineering function at a major food manufacturing site in Gloucestershire. You will drive reliability, safety, and continuous improvement, enabling capital projects and long-term growth.

Lead a high-performing team, develop the engineering strategy, and manage budgets while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role is on-site at the Stonehouse site with the autonomy to shape site performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years' experience leading an engineering department in the food and drink manufacturing industry.
• Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes and engineering best practice.
• Experience developing engineering strategies and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience delivering CAPEX projects and managing engineering budgets.
• Strong knowledge of BRC Global Standards and UK food manufacturing legislation.
• Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline.
• Experience within the dairy or cheese manufacturing sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing engineering team.
• Develop and deliver the site's engineering strategy, ensuring it supports business objectives and future growth.
• Oversee CAPEX projects from concept through to delivery.
• Manage engineering budgets and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Ensure compliance with safety and food manufacturing regulations.
