Job summary

EDAG Engineering UK is seeking a Lead Engineer for Exterior Lighting & Mirrors to drive cross-functional program delivery, supplier management, and cost/timing control on a vehicle programme. This role emphasizes DFMEA processes, BOM management, and direct interface with the broader vehicle development team.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in automotive engineering focusing on exterior lighting or mirror systems, with Siemens NX and Teamcenter experience, and strong leadership and stakeholder

Qualifications

• 8+ years in automotive engineering, exterior lighting or mirror systems
• Experience with LED, Matrix LED, adaptive lighting, light guides and illuminated features
• Experience with exterior mirror systems, camera-monitor systems and ADAS integration
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams and supplier technical reviews
• Knowledge of GD&T, DFM/DFA, DFMEA, PPAP and engineering change management

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional program delivery, cost and supplier management for Lighting & Mirrors across a vehicle programme
• Provide DFM guidance and manufacturing feasibility support
• Ensure regulatory compliance and engineering standards
• Manage system BOM and ECR/ECN changes
• Define and manage validation testing and documentation to 100% sign-off
• Deliver targets for quality, weight, cost, timing and vehicle attributes
• Maintain system deliverables and documentation at milestones
• Coordinate DFMEA activities with cross-functional teams
• Interface between engineering and vehicle development organisation
• Plan projects, manage suppliers and budgets in line with development processes
