Job summary

Grant Thornton UK is building a new digital function as part of a £500m transformation. We’re hiring Lead Engineers to be the senior technical voice in our delivery teams—hands-on engineers who can work confidently in an AI-native environment from prototyping through to production.

We’re happy to talk flexible working and reduced hours to support work-life balance. As a Lead Engineer you’ll own technical direction across one or two teams, mentor engineers, and translate complex technical design

Qualifications

• Wrote and shipped production-grade software.
• Experience with AI-native development and GenAI tooling.
• Ability to work with product managers and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for one or two teams and own delivery quality.
• Mentor engineers on craft and AI tooling usage.
• Build and maintain integrations, builds, APIs, and infrastructure.
• Ship AI-native solutions from prototyping to production.
• Translate technical design to business needs with stakeholders.
• Maintain visibility of technical debt and delivery pace.
• Contribute to engineering standards across the function.
