Job summary

Grant Thornton UK is building a new digital function as part of a £500m transformation and is hiring Lead Engineers to be the senior technical voice in delivery teams. These hands-on engineers will solve problems in the platform or with AI-enabled engineering from prototyping through to deployment.

Qualifications

• Production-grade software experience in Python or C# .Net.
• Ability to operate in AI-native engineering and GenAI tools.
• Experience delivering end-to-end in a team-based model.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for teams and own delivery quality.
• Mentor engineers in craft and AI tooling usage.
• Build and maintain integrations, MCP builds, API connections and infrastructure for GenAI platform.
• Develop systems and tooling in an AI-native way.
• Translate technical design to business needs with stakeholders.
• Keep technical debt visible; maintain delivery pace.
• Contribute to engineering standards and cross-team improvements.
