Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior engineer to lead multi-team initiatives, drive architectural decisions, and champion AI-enabled performance improvements. You will mentor teams, align technical strategy with business goals, and partner with product leadership to shape the roadmap.

You will own engineering metrics, resolve cross-team friction, and set durable design standards to scale products securely while communicating with stakeholders at all levels in a London-centric delivery environment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering complex, ambiguous initiatives across team boundaries.
• Proven mentoring and coaching abilities with two-way feedback.
• Ability to resolve cross-team friction and misalignment.
• Proficiency in at least one major language: Python, Ruby or Clojure.
• Recognised technical authority and aptitude for AI tooling to improve delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams delivering large, complex initiatives spanning multiple domains.
• Broker solution ideation across teams and hold teams accountable for outcomes.
• Jointly own engineering performance metrics with the Engineering Manager.
• Drive continuous improvement against engineering performance metrics.
• Shape engineering-wide standards and architectural decisions.
• Drive technical strategy aligned with commercial outcomes and customer needs.
• Collaborate with Engineering Manager and Product Manager on vision for tech and product.
