Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Endocrine Specialist Nurse, Band 7, to lead the development and delivery of a nurse-led endocrine service across the trust. The post holder will work closely with Consultant Endocrinologists, provide autonomous assessment and manage a complex endocrine caseload, delivering clinics both face-to-face and virtual.

Qualifications

• Experience in endocrinology and specialist nursing is essential.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage a complex caseload.
• Proven skills in delivering patient education and clinics (face-to-face and virtual).
• Experience with clinical governance, audits and service development.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment, treatment and ongoing management of endocrine disorders.
• Establish nurse-led endocrinology clinics and act as key worker for complex cases.
• Support safe discharge planning and inpatient endocrinology consultations.
• Lead education, audit, quality improvement and policy development in endocrinology.
