Job summary

Brightsmith seeks a hands-on Test Technician to join its growing technical team in England. You will support development of flow battery technology, preparing materials, assembling cells and test rigs, and recording data under engineers’ guidance.

Qualifications

• Practical hands-on experience in a laboratory, workshop, manufacturing, engineering, testing or similar environment.
• Comfortable with tools, components and experimental setups.
• Strong attention to detail in material prep, assembly and data recording.
• Able to follow SOPs, risk assessments and safety requirements.
• Experience with batteries, electrochemistry or related R&D is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials, components, samples and test articles for lab and engineering work.
• Support assembly of battery cells and stacks, including electrodes and seals.
• Set up tests under guidance of engineers and scientists.
• Record test data and observations accurately.
• Help assemble and troubleshoot test rigs and equipment.
• Perform QA/QC checks on components and materials.
• Assist with sensor installation, wiring and data acquisition.
• Maintain build records and documentation.
• Keep work areas clean, safe and organized.
• Work flexibly across materials, assembly, testing as priorities evolve.
