GM Performance Power Units in Norwich seeks a lead engineer to drive the MGU e-motor integration within a hybrid powertrain, overseeing cross-disciplinary teams in electromagnetics, mechanical design, thermal, controls, and advanced manufacturing to optimize for max power density, efficiency and race reliability.

You will supervise prototype development, dynamometer testing, and data-driven iterations, guiding design reviews, FMEA, and FIA compliance to deliver race-ready solutions while

Qualifikationen

  • 8+ years in high-speed electric motors, motorsport ERS, or hybrid powertrains.
  • Master's/PhD with 5+ years preferred.
  • Expertise in CAD, CAE/FEA, and PLM for e-motor simulations.

  • Lead cross-disciplinary teams-electromagnetics, mechanical design, thermal, controls, and advanced manufacturing-to integrate and optimize the MGU within the hybrid powertrain, ensuring maximum power density, efficiency, and race reliability. Oversee prototype development, dynamometer testing programs, and data-driven iterations guiding engineering functions to achieve validated, race-ready solutions. Direct design reviews, FMEA processes, documentation, and compliance with FIA F1 regulations on MGU power, weight, RPM limits, and safety interfaces. Foster innovation by driving research into next-gen materials (e.g., advanced composites, magnetic alloys), manufacturing advances, and DFM/DFA principles to enable scalable, high-quality e-motor production.
