Job summary

Natara Global seeks an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to lead design, maintenance and compliance of E&I systems across its operations. You will act as a technical authority, supporting projects, troubleshooting, functional safety and continuous improvement.

Key duties include leading E&I design for new installations, reviewing systems, mentoring technicians and ensuring compliance with UK standards, while coordinating with contractors and internal teams to maximise plant reliability and

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering or closely related field.
• Experience designing, operating and maintaining E&I systems in a process/industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK electrical/instrumentation legislation and standards.
• Familiarity with functional-safety standards.
• Knowledge of hazardous-area equipment design and selection.
• CompEx certification or comparable hazardous-area competency.
• Experience in chemicals, energy, oil and gas, manufacturing, utilities or related sectors.
• Experience with industrial control systems and instrumentation networks.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, ETAP and PLC/DCS tools.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage contractors and work across departments.
• Chartered Engineer status or progress toward registration advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and specification of E&I systems for new installations and plant modifications.
• Perform technical reviews of electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
• Provide technical oversight and troubleshooting support to maintenance and operations teams.
• Ensure compliance with BS 7671, ATEX, DSEAR and IEC standards.
• Act as the technical authority for electrical and control systems.
• Develop maintenance strategies for E&I equipment.
• Support asset integrity and plant availability.
• Mentor technicians and collaborate with engineering, operations and maintenance teams.
