Job summary

SMARTech energy Ltd in Chippenham is seeking an experienced Electrical Installation Engineer to lead installation, programming and commissioning on commercial and industrial projects. The role involves regular travel across England and Wales, with some weekend work and overtime.

You will work unsupervised or as part of a team, ensuring BS7671 compliance and project success. The role offers a company van, training opportunities, and a performance-based bonus.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical installations, particularly in industrial or commercial settings.
Proven expertise in 3-phase systems and energy-saving technologies (e.g. VFDs – install & commissioning, motors)
Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings and technical documentation.
Strong knowledge of BS7671 (18th Edition)
Valid ECS Gold Card and Full UK driving licence (6 points max)
IPAF and PASMA certifications, Solar PV installation experience

Responsibilities

Install and commission electrical systems, including energy monitoring systems, sensors and actuators, 3-phase motors, VSDs/VFDs, pumps, Solar PV, and battery storage.
Modify and commission electrical equipment to meet project requirements.
Inspect and test installations to ensure compliance with BS7671 and client requirements.
Program, test, and troubleshoot energy-saving equipment; diagnose and resolve issues.
Conduct risk assessments and supervise junior team members; liaise with project managers and clients to ensure delivery.
