Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Water Team across the UK. Lead electrical design for wastewater and water infrastructure, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior staff.

The role involves bid leadership, client liaison, and ensuring delivery within time and budget. Hybrid working model available across our North and Midlands offices including Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester.

Qualifications

• Extensive design experience delivering large-scale water engineering projects.
• Strong multi-disciplinary coordination and leadership.
• Proven track record in client liaison and bid support.
• Chartered engineer or equivalent professional standing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design across wastewater and water infrastructure projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate across local and national teams.
• Manage bids, client interfaces and technical proposals.
• Ensure designs meet budget, schedule, and quality standards.
