Safran Seats in the UK (Wales) seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to drive design leadership across a team of Senior and Design Engineers. You will plan and coordinate all design activities to ensure on-time delivery and support programme milestones.
The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and extensive experience with Catia and PLM. You will engage with cross-functional teams and contribute to governance and technical audits across the project lifecycle.
Holding the lead role, from a design perspective, managing a team of Senior and Design Engineers.
Responsibility for the planning and co-ordination of design activities to ensure delivery at key programme milestones.
Role may also include management of external work packages to support high demand.
Effective communication skills. Able to clearly define expectations and gain understanding.
Strong Problem Solving Ability to support on complex programmes.
Good leadership skills to engage and motivate others.
Ability to advise and influence across functions.
Qualified to a minimum of degree in a Mechanical / Aerospace / Structural Engineering field.
Alternatively a HNC/HND or an equivalent qualification in Mechanical / Aerospace / Structural Engineering field, with extensive experience in mechanical systems design, developing concept and detailing engineering solutions.
Significant experience gained in project leadership capacity through a full programme lifecycle.
Highly Proficient with experience in Catia and PLM.
Strong ability to plan and schedule design activities across multiple design modules.
In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.
The Lead Electrical Engineer is seen as a planning and coordination authority, through knowledge, experience and exposure to high complexity category programmes.
Provide input and support to Project Chief Engineers.
