Job summary

Plymouth, Devon, United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Senior/Principal Electrical Design Engineer for a respected building services consultancy. The role offers GBP48,000–GBP65,000 per year (DOE/negotiable) and is a full-time, permanent position.

You will lead electrical design from concept through to completion, take technical ownership, mentor junior engineers, collaborate with architects and contractors, and support business development while upholding British Standards and high-quality

Qualifications

• Strong experience in electrical building services design.
• Experience at Senior or Principal Engineer level.
• Knowledge of LV distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms and small power.
• Experience from concept through to detailed design.
• Familiar with British Standards and Building Regulations.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to lead projects and provide technical direction.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit desirable.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartership advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Leading the electrical design of a range of building services projects from concept through to completion.
• Taking technical responsibility for projects and ensuring designs are delivered to a high standard.
• Producing and reviewing electrical calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports.
• Working closely with architects, mechanical engineers, contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Managing client relationships and attending design and project meetings.
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior and senior engineers.
• Reviewing designs to ensure compliance with relevant British Standards, regulations and industry requirements.
• Supporting project delivery, fee proposals and business development where appropriate.
• Helping to develop and improve the electrical engineering team and its technical capabilities.

Our client, an established and highly regarded building services consultancy, is looking for a Senior/Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team in Plymouth.

• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

• Ability to lead projects and provide technical direction to others.

• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit would be highly desirable.

• Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartership would be advantageous.
