Job summary

Marine Resources is seeking a Lead Electrical Design Engineer in London or Southampton (hybrid) to own electrical and control-system designs on varied maritime projects.

You will lead schematics creation, specify PLCs/HMIs, perform documentation, and ensure compliance with standards while collaborating with customers and suppliers. A senior engineer role with mentoring responsibilities and a strong emphasis on delivering from concept to commissioning.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in electrical design within marine, offshore, industrial or similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, automation and control systems.
• Experience with PLCs and industrial control hardware.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical and control systems.
• Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, calculations and technical documentation.
• Specify and integrate PLCs, HMIs, drives, instrumentation and power distribution equipment.
• Ensure designs meet relevant industry and regulatory standards.
• Support testing, commissioning and system integration activities.
• Work closely with customers, suppliers and internal engineering teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.

The Role
