Job summary

Equans in London, W12, seeks an Electrical Chargehand to supervise a team of electricians on a long-term west London project. You will lead daily activities, interpret drawings, and ensure installation, testing and commissioning meet schedules and quality standards.

This hands-on supervisory role requires strong health and safety leadership, delivery of toolbox talks, mentoring of juniors, and collaboration with site management. Security clearance is required for site access.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent is required.
• Must hold 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Current ECS or JIB Gold Card is essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate electricians, improvers and apprentices.
• Allocate work activities and monitor progress to meet deadlines.
• Carry out electrical installation, testing, inspection and fault finding.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Conduct quality inspections and ensure standards are met.
• Ensure compliance with Wiring Regulations and health and safety.
• Monitor site productivity and resolve technical issues.
• Coordinate labour, materials and plant on site.
• Deliver toolbox talks and promote health and safety culture.
• Liaise with Site Management and provide progress updates.
• Support testing, commissioning and project handover.
• Mentor and assist junior electricians and apprentices.
