Government Digital & Data is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to shape DevOps strategy, act as technical product owner for product lines, and lead a small team across London and other sites. Qualifications

• Expert-level modern development standards, systems integration and service support.
• Practitioner-level information security, systems design and programming with security controls.
• Practitioner-level user focus, researching user needs and championing usability.
• Experience with cloud automation (Ansible, Terraform) and CI/CD platforms (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Experience acting as technical product owner and contributing to medium-long term technical strategy.
• Excellent communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Degree in computer science or equivalent, with passion for DevOps and version control (Git).

Responsibilities

• Act as technical product owner and develop medium to long term strategies for product lines and CI/CD toolchains.
• Lead development standards and guide teams in applying them consistently across projects.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching and mentoring within the DevOps team.
• Establish and maintain integration standards across the service lifecycle and manage resources for effective delivery.
• Diagnose and resolve complex service faults and advise on support methodologies.
• Design secure solutions with appropriate controls to mitigate threats and risks.
• Drive process improvements and optimization across DevOps domains.
• Design, develop, test and document medium-to-high complexity programs and scripts.
• Champion user-centred design by advocating for user research and prioritizing user needs.
