Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is seeking a Lead Developer in Swansea to head the Digital Delivery Software Development and Quality Assurance capability for the DVSA. You will provide technical leadership to developers and QA engineers, focusing on delivering value to digital services and driving continual improvement.

You will also support recruitment, development, and performance management of team members, with a strong emphasis on Scrum-based delivery and strategic tool selection.

• Experience with Scrum and agile delivery.
• Ability to recruit, motivate and assess team members.

Responsibilities

• Act as Technical Lead for high-value initiatives driving development and test standards and continuous improvement through Scrum.
• Make policy decisions on technical tool selection based on requirements analysis.
• Create a culture that proactively manages technical debt and software improvement.
• Lead technical teams in problem solving and optioneering with sound analytical basis.
• Collaborate with Delivery Leads and Lead Developer management to ensure skilled technical expertise and resource planning.
