Job summary

PHOENIX Medical Supplies seeks a Lead Developer (C#) to own our C# development standards and drive best practices across the software lifecycle. You will lead the C# team, define technical direction, and ensure high-quality, scalable solutions for our UK operations.

You will collaborate with IT and business stakeholders, coach developers, and implement robust processes. A strong background in C#, .NET, Azure, and TDD/Agile is essential, with a focus on performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in C# software development.
  • Strong SDLC knowledge and OO design.
  • Proficiency with C# .NET, Visual Studio, Azure, Terraform.
  • Experience with TDD and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with SQL Server/MySQL, HTML/XML or Web Services.
  • Pharmaceutical distribution or retail pharmacy industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical lead for the C# development team, ensuring alignment with best practice and coding standards.
  • Perform requirements gathering, analysis, design, coding, and unit testing for new and existing self-developed systems.
  • Oversee the maintenance, enhancement, and support of existing applications, ensuring quality and performance.
  • Contribute to the definition and improvement of software development processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Manage the technical relationship with corporate IT regarding Azure and related infrastructure.
  • Coach and mentor team members, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with internal change control systems and maintain robust documentation across all development activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement through performance reporting and process optimisation.

We are now looking for a Lead Developer (C#) to take technical ownership of our C# development standards, driving best practice and continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the technical lead for the C# development team, ensuring alignment with best practice and coding standards.
  • Perform requirements gathering, analysis, design, coding, and unit testing for new and existing self-developed systems.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in C# software development.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and object-oriented design principles.
  • Proficiency with C# .NET, Microsoft Visual Studio, Azure tools and services (including ARM and scaling for performance), and Terraform.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills, with a passion for mentoring and technical excellence.
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience (Microsoft Certified Professional Developer qualification also accepted).
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD), Lean or Agile methodologies.
  • Exposure to SQL Server, MySQL, Java, HTML, XML, or Web Services.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical distribution or retail pharmacy industry.
