Stellar Entertainment Software Ltd in Guildford is seeking a Lead Designer to shape the creative vision across AAA PC and console titles. You will guide the design process, mentor the team, and ensure the player experience remains at the center of every decision.

You will collaborate with CCO, Technical Director, and Production to translate ideas into ship-ready features, prototype iteratively, and balance ambition with technical realities.

Qualifications

• Shipping AAA PC/Console titles as Lead Designer.
• Strong grasp of core design disciplines: systems design, level design and game feel.
• Broad knowledge of genres and eras, with a player-first mindset.
• Proven track record of leading and motivating teams with an open, collaborative style.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-functional collaboration.
• Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine.
• Ability to give/receive constructive criticism and make tough calls when priorities conflict.
• Calm, decisive and empathetic leadership around milestones.

Responsabilités

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of designers across systems, level and technical design.
• Inspire the design process and shape the creative vision from concept to ship.
• Create and maintain design documentation including pillars and feature specs.
• Prototype and iterate features using playtesting and feedback to refine them.
• Collaborate with engineering and art leads to scope features within constraints, budget, and schedule.
• Monitor market trends and competitor titles to keep games fresh.
• Build relationships with external partners and represent design in reviews/presentations.
