Stellar Entertainment in Guildford is seeking an Associate Technical Director to lead the technical direction of a new AAA project. You will mentor engineers, manage delivery, and bridge creative vision with technical reality across art, design, production, and external partners.

The role requires hands-on coding alongside leadership, with a focus on building high-performing teams and delivering cutting-edge game experiences. This is a hybrid on-site position at our Guildford studio.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience as a senior tech lead or director on AAA games.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and core game engineering disciplines.
• Track record of building and managing cohesive, high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across disciplines.
• Genuine passion for making great games and pushing technical boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Bridge the gap between creative vision and technical execution across departments.
• Partner with department leads to shape and implement a clear technical vision.
• Provide pragmatic technical expertise while empowering the team to self-solve.
• Conduct code reviews and debugging to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Mentor and manage the team, ensuring code quality meets requirements.
• Support recruitment and talent development to build a strong technical team.
• Run effective meetings and software/build reviews to encourage feedback and ideas.
• Support the Technical Director as needed.
