Job summary

Building Careers UK Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to lead the design management function on landmark high-rise residential schemes in London. You will coordinate architects, structural engineers, M&E consultants and subcontractors to deliver design information on time and to quality.

The role requires strong leadership, knowledge of Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act, and close collaboration with site teams and clients to resolve technical challenges.

Qualifications

• Senior Design Manager within a main contractor environment.
• Strong track record delivering high-rise residential projects.
• Experience with recladding, facade remediation or external envelope works.
• Excellent knowledge of design coordination, technical delivery, and construction sequencing.
• Strong understanding of Building Regulations, fire safety requirements and the Building Safety Act.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design management function from pre-construction to completion.
• Coordinate architects, structural engineers, M&E consultants and specialists.
• Chair design team meetings and manage design programmes.
• Manage RFIs, design changes and technical approvals.
• Work with site teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure programme.
