Job summary

Pertemps Tm Exeter is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the design process on a range of projects across Education, Healthcare, Leisure, Commercial and Student Accommodation, with project values up to £20m. The role requires a proactive individual with a strong construction techniques background to manage design through pre-construction to delivery.

You will lead and coordinate architects, engineers and consultants, ensuring designs are practical, coordinated and compliant, while

Qualifications

• Construction-related degree (or equivalent)
• CIOB membership would be advantageous
• Strong technical knowledge across design principles and systems
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Experience with MS Office & design tools (Project/Asta/Primavera/Bluebeam)

Responsibilities

• Lead design process from bid/pre-construction through delivery
• Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants and supply chain
• Manage external design consultants ensuring quality and compliance
• Lead design reviews to monitor progress and drive value
• Ensure designs comply with regulations and standards
• Coordinate design activities with programme deadlines and authorities
• Manage design development within cost parameters and materials selection
• Manage design change control and contribute to design strategy
