W Talent is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead the design of bespoke machinery in Huddersfield. You will manage end-to-end design, from concept through manufacture, with hands-on design work and mentorship of a small team.

Ideal candidates will have strong mechanical engineering background, proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, and a track record of delivering complex machinery in a fast-paced environment. Some travel and flexible hours may be required.

Formación

• Time-served, apprenticeship-trained or degree/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong experience designing bespoke machinery, equipment or complex mechanical systems.
• Proven experience in fast-paced design and manufacturing environments.
• Proven experience taking projects from concept through to manufacture.
• Experience leading, mentoring or supporting other engineers.
• Experience integrating electrical/electronic systems would be advantageous.
• Experience with carbon fibre or composite materials would be desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the design and development of bespoke machinery, components and engineering systems.
• Mentor and drive the design team under the Head of Projects & Operational Planning.
• Take ownership of projects from concept through to manufacture, install and commissioning.
• Produce and review detailed drawings, layouts and documentation using 3D CAD.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and production to ensure designs are manufacturable.
