Job summary

Greggs is seeking an ambitious Warehouse Shift Manager to lead the team at the new Kettering National Distribution Centre (KNDC), a cutting-edge automated site designed to support Greggs' growth.

You will manage day-to-day operations, drive KPI targets, ensure stock accuracy, and collaborate with Engineering and Flow Control teams to maximise equipment availability while delivering outstanding service to Greggs shops and the distribution network.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams within warehouse/logistics/distribution.
• Strong focus on operational excellence and delivering results through people.
• Experience managing supervisors, team leads or section leads.
• Understanding inventory management, stock accuracy and warehouse control processes.
• Strong planning and organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to engage teams at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of Section Leads and Warehouse Operatives.
• Manage day-to-day warehouse operations across a highly automated environment.
• Ensure automation systems, processes and people work together to deliver operational excellence.
• Drive inventory accuracy through effective stock control and coaching.
• Monitor performance against safety, service, productivity and quality KPIs.
• Manage labour deployment, resource planning and shift performance.
• Work with Engineering, Automation and Flow Control teams to maximise equipment availability and throughput.
• Have advanced IT skills including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Communicate complex data terminology clearly to the business.
