Job summary

Greggs plc is hiring a Warehouse Shift Manager for the new Kettering National Distribution Centre (KNDC). You will lead a team of Section Leads and Warehouse Operatives on a highly automated site, driving performance, stock accuracy and cost-effective operations.

The role requires leadership, hands-on management and a focus on safety and service excellence. You will partner with Engineering and Automation teams to maximise uptime, oversee resource planning and ensure smooth shift transitions.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams within a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment.
• Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise.
• Proven ability to use KPIs, data and reporting to drive decisions.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills across all levels.
• Familiarity with automated warehousing systems and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of Section Leads and Warehouse Operatives.
• Manage day-to-day warehouse operations across a highly automated environment.
• Ensure automation systems, processes and people work together to deliver operational excellence.
• Drive inventory accuracy through effective stock control and coaching.
• Monitor performance against safety, service, productivity and quality KPIs.
• Manage labour deployment, resource planning and shift performance.
