AWTG Ltd. is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead the development of advanced analytics and ML solutions across client projects. You will guide teams across data, AI, software, and product to deliver practical outcomes for end users and stakeholders in the West Midlands.

The role emphasizes robust, ethical modeling, model governance, and clear communication of risks and trade-offs, with hands-on delivery and mentorship of junior data scientists in a consultancy or enterprise setting.

Qualifications

• Production-grade data science solutions in client or production settings.
• Strong Python/R with ML libraries and tooling.
• Model validation, performance assessment and reproducible coding.
• Ability to translate data opportunities into delivery plans.
• Excellent communication of outputs, assumptions and trade-offs.
• Awareness of privacy, ethics and governance in modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, validation and deployment support of data science models and analytical products.
• Apply ML, NLP, forecasting, optimisation or simulation where appropriate.
• Guide on data preparation, feature engineering, model selection, validation and interpretation.
• Collaborate with data engineers and software teams to ensure scalable, maintainable outcomes.
• Communicate complex findings, uncertainty and limitations clearly to stakeholders.
• Promote responsible AI, data ethics, privacy and governance within projects.
