Lloyds Banking Group is seeking a Lead Data Scientist for its Chief Security Office to advance cybersecurity using AI/ML in a data-rich environment. This role spans the UK with a hybrid work pattern and focuses on transforming threat detection and response.

You will own security outcomes, lead a team of data scientists, and collaborate with data engineers on scalable ML pipelines in GCP while ensuring model explainability and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading data science projects in cybersecurity, fraud, or behavioral analytics.
• Deep expertise in Python, ML frameworks and cloud platforms (preferably GCP).
• Strong grasp of anomaly detection, time-series modelling, and deep learning architectures.
• Experience with LLMs and generative AI in production environments is highly desirable.
• Passion for ethical AI, model governance and secure ML operations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Innovator mentality with focus on 최신 data engineering and cyber security trends.

Responsibilities

• Own the delivery of security outcomes, including evolving anomaly detection approaches balancing performance, explainability and risk.
• Lead a team of Data Scientists.
• Drive innovation in LLM-based security automation, including prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and model fine-tuning.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to build scalable, secure ML pipelines on GCP.
• Partner with cyber defence, risk and compliance to ensure explainable, ethical models aligned with standards (SOC2, SWIFT, SOX).
• Contribute to the Data Science Community of Practice across the organisation.
• Translate insights into actionable intelligence for stakeholders in Group COO and CSO functions.
