Job summary

Wise in London is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to join the AML team. You will build AI-based financial crime detection systems to keep customers safe, scale globally, and work across functions to tackle AML problems.

You will mentor teammates, optimise models, and deploy production Python services in a hybrid work environment. The role focuses on combining unsupervised, semi-supervised, and supervised learning with GenAI to balance precision and recall while delivering data-driven insights

Qualifications

• Experience implementing, training, testing and evaluating performance of Machine Learning systems;
• Strong Python knowledge with OOP principles;
• Experience with statistical analysis and designing experiments;

Responsibilities

• Develop AML detection controls using a mix of unsupervised, semi-supervised and supervised learning with GenAI.
• Create frameworks to prove controls coverage at regional levels.
• Develop technologies to serve Wise's diverse international user base.
• Mentor junior team members in technical and non-technical skills.
• Deploy and maintain production-grade Python services and scheduled data pipelines.
