Lead Data Engineer - Manager - KPMG Curve 106256

Base Location: Leeds based (Hybrid - 3 days per week in office)

Security Clearance: Applicants must hold or be capable of obtaining UK National Security Vetting. Requirements include but are not limited to residing in the UK for at least the past 5 years and being a UK national or dual UK national. Responsibilities

We seek experienced data engineers in cloud environments who are eager to contribute their expertise to our team. The Lead Data Engineer will be responsible for leading client delivery and ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience with languages like Python, Scala, Spark, SQL
  • Knowledge of database technologies such as Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of system architecture and data security practices
  • Ability to define code review standards and ensure quality
  • Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting data issues
  • Experience with cloud platforms and native cloud resources
  • Leadership in Agile methodologies (Scrum, pair programming)
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and understand business requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating strategies to technical and non-technical audiences, including C-suite
Preferred Extras
  • Experience with cloud-native data engineering/analytics (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Experience in machine learning and data science applications
  • Familiarity with open-source technologies
  • Knowledge of Data Platform Technologies (Quantexa, Palantir, DataBricks)
  • Experience with test automation frameworks
Locations

We are open to talent across the UK, with core hubs in Leeds. The role is based in Leeds with 3 days per week in the office. Flexible hours and part-time options are available; please discuss your needs with our team.
