Job summary

Menzies LLP in London is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the development and operation of our GCP data warehouse. You will build scalable data pipelines, enable reporting and automation, and drive data-informed decision making across the firm.

You will partner with stakeholders, mentor team members, and help shape the Innovation Team roadmap while ensuring security and compliance across data assets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering or analytics engineering with leadership experience.
• Strong SQL and Python for production data solutions.
• Experience with data warehouses (BigQuery) and GCP ecosystem.
• Ability to design scalable data pipelines and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of scalable data pipelines into BigQuery.
• Shape engineering approach across GCP and use of Terraform/CI/CD.
• Set high engineering standards across modelling, testing, monitoring and cost.
• Collaborate with teams to turn business needs into reusable data products.
• Embed security and governance by design across data handling.
• Provide technical leadership, code review, and mentoring.
• Enable data to drive value via Power BI, automation, and internal apps.
• Balance build-vs-buy decisions for value, security, and scale.
• Champion data enablement across Menzies.
