Job summary

ibse in London is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead data centre projects within a property consultancy, guiding design from feasibility through to handover.

You will manage design development, liaise with clients, developers and contractors, and mentor engineers while ensuring programme, budget and quality are met.

The role offers exposure to high-profile data centre schemes and cross-disciplinary collaboration within a professional, client-facing environment.

Qualifications

• Fully versed in UK building regulations, British Standards and CIBSE Standards.
• Awareness of LV systems, standby generation, UPS, lighting, small power, fire detection and earthing.
• Ability to lead and mentor within and beyond the team.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, procurement and contract/appointment terms.
• Assist in fee proposals with an understanding of required resources.

Responsibilities

• Design calculations and peer reviews.
• Contribute to all RIBA design stages.
• Lead technical design delivery with a project team.
• Mentor graduates, apprentices and staff.
• Produce detailed designs, schedules, specs and reports.
• Oversee contractor shop drawings and RFIs.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and project meetings.
