Job summary

Waythrough in Sheffield is seeking a Criminal Justice Lead Practitioner to provide leadership for the Criminal Justice team, focusing on treatment pathways from harm reduction to structured treatment. You will work across partners to tailor recovery journeys and support staff development.

The role requires managing a caseload, mentoring staff, and ensuring high-quality assessments with strong confidentiality and collaboration with agencies. 37 hours/week with some rota-based evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing people with regular supervision.
• Understanding and ability to implement evidence-based interventions (MI, CBT, brief interventions).
• Experience completing service user assessments, including risk assessments.
• Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and how it interfaces with substance use services.
• Experience with best practice frameworks (NICE, DOH, NTA, CQC, Caldicott).
• Maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Implement and develop services delivered by the team within a defined area.
• Support the Service/Area Manager to improve processes and meet quality and contractual needs.
• Lead quality service delivery elements and resources to meet local needs.
• Mentor and develop staff, including volunteers, with training and appraisals.
• Manage a caseload, complete and review assessments, risk assessments, and support plans.
• Maintain up-to-date records and provide written/verbal reports as required.
• Analyse information to drive service improvements.
• Collaborate with local management and contribute to project objectives.
• Ensure health & safety responsibilities are addressed and service accessibility for underrepresented groups.
