Blessed Robert Sutton Catholic Voluntary Academy in Burton on Trent is seeking a lead cover supervisor to ensure students have a high-quality learning experience when their usual teacher is away.

You will deploy teachers and TAs, supervise KS3 and KS4 activities, and support behaviour management to keep lessons on track. This permanent, part-time post is 37 hours per week, term time only, with opportunities to contribute across the Academy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage staff cover for the school, deploying teachers and TAs as necessary, providing stability and continuity for students whose lessons are affected through short term teaching staff absence
  • To provide a high-quality customer focused management administrative service within the main school office
  • Supervise the students in KS3 and KS4 working on pre-set learning activities in the absence of a teacher
  • Be caring and supportive and committed to achieving excellent results
  • Have a belief that every young person, whatever their starting point or circumstances, can achieve exceptional things
  • Promote the well-being of our student’s providing guidance and support and be able to inspire learning and progress
  • be resilient and determined, and confident in talking to large groups of young people

Job description

As our lead cover supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring that students have a high-quality learning experience when their usual teacher is away from school.

You will manage the cover requirements to ensure that students learning is uninterrupted by staff absence, you will also manage classroom behaviour to ensure pupils stay on task and facilitate the activities that have been designed by teaching staff to ensure that students complete the work in an effective learning environment.
