Job description

We are seeking a proactive and reliable Premises Officer to help maintain a safe, secure, and well-presented school environment across our academies. Working as part of the Trust Estates Team, you will undertake a variety of site management duties including routine inspections, minor repairs, maintenance tasks, health and safety compliance checks, contractor supervision, and site security.

You will play a key role in ensuring that school buildings and grounds are operated effectively, supporting the day-to-day running of the academy and contributing to the delivery of the Trust's estates strategy. The role requires flexibility to work across multiple school sites and participation in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.

Your responsibilities

To take day-to-day responsibility for the provision of efficient and effective caretaking support to the school, including ensuring that the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained in accordance with the required standards set by the school, and that heating systems operate at optimum efficiency.

  • Site Maintenance & Repairs - Carry out day-to-day repairs, checks, and upkeep of buildings and grounds.
  • Health & Safety Compliance - Ensure safe practices, complete inspections, and report hazards or risks.
  • Estate Management Support - Assist with managing premises, contractors, and estate documentation.
  • Energy & Sustainability - Monitor building operations, identify efficiencies, and promote sustainable practices.
  • Teamwork & Flexibility - Work within set procedures, elevate concerns, and undertake additional duties as required.
