Job summary

Chefs for Chefs LTD is recruiting a Lead Cook in Ingleton, North Yorkshire. This full-time role covers 40 hours weekly, with 8:00am–6:00pm shifts, at a well-established nursing home. Salary is £28,808 per year (Hourly rate £13.85).

You will oversee the kitchen, prepare nutritious meals for around 30 residents and staff lunches, and maintain high hygiene standards in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cook, Lead Cook or Chef.
• Care home experience desirable but not essential.
• Good understanding of dietary requirements and allergies.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Caring, reliable and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious, home-style meals to a high standard.
• Plan menus for dietary requirements and allergies.
• Lead day-to-day kitchen operation and cleanliness.
• Manage stock rotation and food ordering.
• Work with Kitchen Assistant to keep an efficient kitchen.
• Create a positive dining experience for residents daily.
