Job summary

SABIC Teesside facility invites applications for an Engineer, Control & Automation. The role supports Operations with control strategy development and automation security across LDPE and ethylene facilities, including System 18 LDPE know-how.

The successful candidate will lead troubleshooting, perform data-driven improvements, and collaborate with DCS, I/E, and OT teams to enhance safety, reliability and efficiency of plant operations at Teesside and North Tees.

Qualifications

• Degree in Process Engineering / Instrumentation / Control Engineering or an equivalent discipline or a trade qualification with significant relevant experience.
• Knowledge of process control systems and automation deployment is preferred.
• Knowledge of Honeywell Experion DCS and AspenTech products is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide control engineering expertise to Operations teams across Teesside and North Tees sites.
• Lead development and implementation of control strategies to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency.
• Implement Automation Security protocols across PLC, SIS, and DCS systems.
• Run Advanced Process Control Schemes and Manufacturing Execution Systems.
• Support Operations with complex troubleshooting and performance assurance.
• Analyse plant data to identify short- and long-term improvements to safety, capacity, reliability, and efficiency.
• Act as custodian of System 18 LDPE process control know-how and modeling for scenarios/business cases.
• Collaborate with DCS engineers, I/E engineers, OT infra teams and other site control engineers.
• Lead reliability investigations for process-related issues.
• Manage PES Change Control database and ensure best-practice deployment.
• Engage with internal and external knowledge networks to share and adopt best practices.
