Lead Contract Manager – Offshore Wind Project

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Contract Manager to oversee contract management for a large-scale offshore wind project. You will manage multimillion-dollar offshore delivery contracts, ensuring contractual compliance, risk mitigation, and stakeholder collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. You will lead a team of experts, working closely with multinational joint venture partners and contractors to protect project interests and contribute to the successful execution of the offshore wind farm.

Key Responsibilities
Contract Strategy and Management
  • Anticipate and mitigate contractual and commercial risks, opportunities, and threats to the project.
  • Coordinate all legal and procurement activities to ensure compliance with contractual terms.
  • Oversee negotiation, completion, and management of contracts related to offshore construction, turbine installation, pre-assembly ports, and engineering.
  • Develop strategies to address disputes or claims efficiently, safeguarding project interests.
  • Ensure projects follow established processes and procedures to meet quality, health, safety, and cost targets.
  • Manage contracts and packages throughout the project’s lifecycle, ensuring appropriate risk profiles and strategies are in place.
  • Maintain strong relationships with contractors and suppliers for continuous value and collaboration.
Contractor Performance and Risk Management
  • Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with contract terms, quality standards, and cost objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in contractual strategies, commercial parameters, and terms and conditions.
  • Implement systems and procedures to ensure compliance with governance policies.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to contract managers, guiding them to achieve project goals.
Collaboration and Coordination
  • Collaborate with legal, insurance, technical services, and operations teams to develop and execute contracts successfully.
  • Coordinate with project support teams for resource deployment and knowledge development.
  • Work closely with the O&M team to ensure asset delivery and efficient operation.
Key Criteria
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Significant technical and practical knowledge of offshore wind technology.
  • At least 10 years of experience in contract management, especially in offshore wind or renewable energy projects.
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex contracting strategies.
  • Strong ability to manage contracts in dynamic, fast-paced environments and deliver multiple targets.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proactive, diligent, and adaptable, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and sound contractual judgment.
  • High self-motivation and flexibility in work approach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with new software tools.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, offshore regulations, and health, safety, and environmental legislation related to construction projects.
