Job summary

Priory Hospital Preston is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the eating disorders unit on a part-time basis (22.5 hours per week). The role requires MRCPsych with CCT and GMC Specialist Register, plus Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status.

Qualifications

• MRCPsych or equivalent qualification.
• CCT or equivalent qualification.
• Inclusion on GMC Specialist Register with Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and take overall responsibility for patient care.
• Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk assessments, strategic reviews, and therapeutic planning.
• Act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
• Oversee referrals, admissions, and contribute to pre-admission assessments.
• Provide specialist psychiatric expertise to multidisciplinary assessment, formulation, and treatment planning.
