Job summary

Priory Hospital Preston, Bartle, near Preston, invites applications for a Consultant Psychiatrist on the eating disorders unit. The role is offered on a part-time basis, 22.5 hours per week, with a pro rata salary of £108,528.

You will provide clinical leadership, lead multidisciplinary ward rounds, and act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act. The hospital offers support, development paths, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Applicants must hold MRCPsych (or an equivalent qualification), a CCT (or equivalent) and be included on the GMC Specialist Register, along with Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and take overall responsibility for patient care.
• Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk assessments, strategic reviews, and therapeutic planning.
• Act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
• Oversee referrals, admissions, and contribute to pre-admission assessments.
• Provide specialist psychiatric expertise to multidisciplinary assessment, formulation, and treatment planning.
