Overview

Decision Analysis Services Limited (DAS) is an independent professional services company. Since 2007 we have provided services globally to more than 200 client organisations within the energy, defence, government, transport, and health sectors. Based in offices from Glasgow to Sydney, we support clients across five continents. Our extensive experience of engineering, regulatory practices, and operations delivery enables us to delve deeper, provide invaluable insight and foresight, and develop sustainable, long‑term solutions to client issues. We specialise in bridging the gap between strategic planning and operational execution, developing enduring solutions to the uniquely complex issues faced by our clients. We are experts in programme management, systems thinking, investment modelling, machine learning, and data analysis.

The Role

DAS is looking for a Chartered Engineer with Civil Nuclear Safety experience to join our growing Systems Assurance team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the nuclear sector and work on high‑profile projects spanning the entire nuclear lifecycle. You will leverage your domain expertise and consultancy skills to tackle our clients’ complex, mission‑critical challenges while internally influencing the strategy of our growing technical community. You'll take on a hands‑on role with significant autonomy to deliver outcomes that directly impact the growth of DAS's nuclear capabilities, helping us expand our footprint during this transformative time for the industry.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Client Engagements: Supporting clients on safety‑critical projects, working to find appropriate solutions to their engineering and assurance challenges.
  • Support Programme Delivery: Hands‑on project work in line with your skills and expertise, for example Safety Case Management and Safety Case report writing, and supporting clients with adoption and embedding of safety practices.
  • Build Strategic Relationships: Cultivate strong, trust‑based relationships with client stakeholders to ensure long‑term collaboration and identify opportunities for further partnership and business development.
  • Contributing to DAS Growth: Enabling DAS's civil nuclear propositions by driving internal growth and ensuring we stay at the forefront of industry needs.
  • Active Ownership: Taking ownership of your professional growth, keeping abreast of industry developments, and driving direction.
Requirements

We are looking for an established Safety Engineer with nuclear sector experience; specifically, a nuclear enthusiast looking for a role that utilises their technical skills alongside opportunities for professional engagement and interaction across the breadth of the industry during this transformative time. We are looking for someone who embodies the following qualities and qualifications:

  • Safety Expertise: A Chartered Engineer (or working towards Chartership) with relevant certification, such as IEC61508, IEC61513, or AV2.
  • Civil Nuclear Experience: Demonstrable experience in the civil nuclear sector coupled with an enthusiasm and understanding of the market.
  • Consultancy Mindset: Adaptable, solutions‑oriented, and enjoy tackling complex client challenges, bringing a strategic approach to every engagement.
  • Passionate and independent: Confident in developing strategic insights and delivering solutions autonomously while maintaining high standards.
  • Relationship Building: A natural ability to build rapport, establish trust, and form lasting professional relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Benefits

In return for your skills and expertise, we offer a genuinely people‑focused culture. DAS is dedicated to offering more than just a job. We’re committed to cultivating your professional development and success. Employee wellbeing is at the forefront of our thinking. We actively support a healthy work‑life balance and champion workplace flexibility, enabling you to prioritise the things that matter to you.

  • Attractive salary, reflective of skills and experience.
  • Private pension, private healthcare for you and your immediate family, and private dental care.
  • Death‑in‑service and income protection schemes.
  • 25 days holiday plus UK bank holidays, and additional days to work on environmental and community activities.
  • Discretionary office closure over Christmas.
  • Personal carbon offset through company scheme.
  • Access to professional and personal development platform, Udemy.
