Job summary

Catapult is seeking a Principal Computer Vision & Tracking Engineer to own the computer vision and real-time tracking systems at the core of our camera-based products. Based in London, hybrid work arrangements apply as you lead a small team building the perception stack from neural network inference on edge accelerators to 3D tracking and data-driven validation.

You will work on edge AI inference, movement analysis algorithms, and athlete profiling, reporting to a Senior Director of Engineering

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with deep expertise in building complex systems.
• End-to-end ownership of production systems and responsibility for reliability.
• Strong proficiency in Python and C/C++ across high-level to performance-critical code.
• Ability to scope, prototype, ship, and measure ambiguous problems.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading cross-team initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction of our computer vision and tracking domain, from sensor readings to metric calculations.
• Lead and mentor a small team (1-2 engineers) and drive execution while staying hands-on.
• Train, optimize, and deploy neural networks for real-time segmentation/classification on embedded hardware.
• Extend tracking/motion analysis pipelines to support new movements.
• Ensure domain reliability by analyzing tracking accuracy and driving improvements.
