Job summary

iCOMAT is seeking a skilled Laminator to join our advanced manufacturing team. You will apply composite materials, hand lay-up, and vacuum bagging to produce high-performance components, while leading and developing a laminating team and ensuring QA compliance.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with composite laminating, reading engineering drawings, and a strong commitment to quality and safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Proven Laminator experience in composite manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of composite materials.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical work instructions.
• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Understanding of quality control in composite manufacturing.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Laminate moulds using pre-impregnated tooling fabric from patterns with QA sign-offs.
• Apply vacuum bagging techniques to debulk.
• Position drill bushes in the mould laminate.
• Prepare tool pre- and post-cure, with paperwork completed.
• Laminate components with carbon/epoxy, following ply books.
• Read engineering drawings and Ply Books to extract information.
• Ensure repeatability using templates where available.
• Follow procedures and QA documentation throughout.
