Job summary

NES Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to lead pre-commissioning, commissioning and start‑up activities across two key UK sites. Initial work will be remote, moving to full‑time on‑site commissioning from Q2 2027 through June 2028, with occasional travel between Peterhead and Drax.

You will plan, prepare and coordinate commissioning activities, lead contractors and site teams, and ensure compliance with safety, quality and Grid Code procedures for large‑scale energy

Qualifications

• Must hold TP141A National Grid Authorisation.
• Strong commissioning experience on large-scale energy, HVDC or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex commissioning phases.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning planning — Develop commissioning plans, schedules and documentation.
• Testing execution — Perform and oversee commissioning and testing activities per Grid procedures.
• Team coordination — Lead contractors, site teams and stakeholders across both project locations.
• Compliance & reporting — Ensure safety, quality, environmental and Grid Code compliance throughout commissioning.
• Issue resolution — Identify, track and resolve deficiencies during testing and follow‑up activities.
