Job summary

National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) seeks a senior commercial leader to head a team of Quantity Surveyors and maximise the FEED framework's value across a portfolio of transmission projects. You will report to the Director of PMO and drive contract strategy, option selections, and development phases through to handover to delivery.

You will build relationships with procurement, delivery and legal, lead performance reviews, and support commercial planning in a regulated environment,

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience in a commercial, quantity surveying or financial management role, ideally on the design and development of major infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial and financial skills, with experience managing contracts, costs and risk.
• Effective stakeholder management skills, able to collaborate, influence and think strategically in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience leading and developing teams, including those working across multiple locations.
• An understanding of commercial strategy and financial planning within a regulated or similar environment.
• Knowledge of the UK energy sector or transmission infrastructure would be beneficial but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial development of infrastructure projects from contract strategy to handover to delivery.
• Support FEED contracts (NEC 3/NEC4) cost control, risk management, and value optimisation.
• Lead FEED performance reporting to senior leaders and Exec.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive project outcomes.
