Job summary

Yorkshire Water is seeking a Lead Commercial Auditor to join the Commercial Assurance Contract Audit Team. The role focuses on delivering annual commercial assurance, conducting complex supplier analyses and identifying opportunities for cost savings.

You will work across contracts, liaising with partners and external audit firms while supporting continued improvements to audit processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Qualified to at least degree level in Finance, Accounting or Quantity Surveying, or equivalent qualifications (MCIPS).
• Experience of leading and managing own audit plan.
• Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels in the organisation.
• Demonstrate a basic knowledge of auditing principles.

Responsibilities

• Carry out commercial contract audits, ensuring costs claimed align with contract terms.
• Liaise with business partners to gather intelligence on contract performance and scope audits.
• Perform detailed data analysis of costs to verify contractual obligations and pricing schedules.
• Identify commercial control deficiencies and financial wastage; produce robust audit reports.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to discuss progress and explore investigative leads.
• Work with external audit framework partners to support audits and guide internal stakeholders.
