Job summary

Yorkshire Water is seeking a Lead Commercial Auditor to join the Commercial Assurance Contract Audit Team at Head Office, Buttershaw. You will help ensure costs claimed match contracted terms and drive improvements across commercial contracts.

The role offers hybrid working with an average in-office presence, a strong benefits package including a competitive salary, pension up to 12%, and an incentive bonus. A relevant degree and MCIPS are desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or Quantity Surveying; MCIPS preferred.
• Experience leading and managing own audit plan.
• Strong communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
• Solid understanding of auditing principles and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out commercial contract audits to ensure costs align with contract terms.
• Gather intelligence from business partners to define audit scope and objectives.
• Perform detailed data analysis of costs and pricing schedules.
• Identify commercial controls deficiencies and potential cost wastage.
• Ensure audit reports are accurate and well-supported by evidence.
• Collaborate with stakeholders including Capital Delivery to discuss progress and findings.
• Coordinate with external audit partners to support audits.
