Job summary

Stark Defence in the United Kingdom is seeking a Combustion Engineer to lead end-to-end design and development of combustion systems for a liquid-fuelled propulsion system. You will move from bench testing through to qualification flight test campaigns, applying CFD and experimental techniques.

You will define instrumentation, analyze data, and refine designs while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

Masters-level degree in engineering or a related technical field.
Proven experience in both computational and experimental combustion system design and development.
Background in combustor design for air-breathing propulsion systems, afterburners, liquid propellant engines, or related gas turbines.
Experience defining instrumentation and test conditions for test campaigns.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end design and development of combustion systems for a liquid-fuelled propulsion system.
Perform CFD modelling (2D/3D) and experimental validation to advance combustor designs.
Define test instrumentation and measurement points for ground and flight tests.
Post-process data and refine designs based on results.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve interface challenges.
Mentor engineers across propulsion and related systems as the team grows.
